Sometimes it is not so relevant. Remeber the "full-supported OpenGL 1.5 opengl32.dll"? If you do, then you must know that the above mentioned opengl32.dll fails even to start QuakeGL, or the tests in OpenGL extension viewer!!!
That is all about compaitibility trully available only on paper, not in real-life...

Hm, Mesa runs even Call of Duty, so I reckon the very basic GLquake really should work fine (unless you made an error during  setup) (?)

MesaFX 0.51e should be faster, as it is based on ASM core but may have some issues. If Quake doesnt start, go back to 0.51d.
This ran very well here, tested with V5-6000 and Quake 3.

I failed to mention that it was a software opengl32.dll that I have seen on: http://www.gratisweb.com/radeonpowa/Opengl_software.html.
It might be a bit off this discussion, but this OpenGL was having everything supported, on paper, in OpenGL Extensions Viewer. Yet it could only run QuakeGL, and with no increase in speed or quality than Microsoft OpenGL. Anything else failed to start with it.

On the Mesa, i appreciate the fact that it maked possible to play Neverwinter Nights. Still, no news on Blood Rayne...

What exactly does the fixed exe do? It gets you rid of errors on other video cards as well?

The Team is working for the 3dfx users, not for the S3 users or the others...

Darn you guessed it, it was for other users than 3dfx...!

Just a note to Falcon / Patience... :P

Could you please make a 'sticky' thread in the drivers section about MesaFX releases so we all don't have to search forum threads for news on this! :D

Just an idea! ::)

Cheers... ;)

So with these mesa files installed people are running NWN's with no problems? Just curious, it's the first time I heard anything about this drivers. What other games are these things helping with?

Thanks patience! ;)

Heh, if we all had the patience of patience we'd be far more patient than someone with a lot of patience to spare! :P

(now go read that five times fast!) :o

Heheheh! ;D
