In this case there was a BIN price when the auction started so it's just a case of showing off what a bargain that was

No showing off on my part.  To my knowledge Gary posted the auction after I had already bid on it.  I then simply retracted my bid and used BIN,  no harm there.

IMO this thread is for ongoing auctions, not for auctions you won, for that we have the "Who collects 3dfx cards on the board?"-thread

This thread is designed for auction related discussion. ( I should know, I created it )  Whether it be past or present auctions, this thread is open to all of the above.  If you read through previous pages you will see that posts are made regarding "won auctions".  (both Eye and Nitro are guilty of "postig off topic".  Practice what you preach.

I have both of the decals, unfortunately the cabinet itself would be a bit expensive to ship to Germany...

Very very happy!

(kind of wondering how much other people have spend on their Mercury bricks here in Europe, shame the exchange rate isn't 1:2 anymore £ vs $ but still a good price)

In all honesty, I don't think I've seen one on eBay for a long time, I know they are generally not cheap auction style, but what's the going rate for these nowadays?

I have paid a lot more..

A couple of years ago I've gotten them for a lot less..

If I were in the market for one today I would bid as high a $350.USD but it could go reasonably as high as $450..

As you know all it takes is 2 bidders that want it really bad them it would go much higher. You are correct, I haven't seen one on eBay in quite awhile.

Yes that was a nice catch Tim.
I'm also in the market for a green "Brick" but rarely one pops up on ebay even more so in Europe.
Cheers

Paid $810 for my first green brick off Ebay and as little as $150

$300 is not bad, make sure to see my Mercury FAQ if you want to get it working.

Thanks! Yea, I think it's even more rare here in Europe.

Thanks Gary, hopefully in future I will have some time to get it working, so your guide will be excellent for that.

Sounds like it was a good price then, I'm glad. Smiley

Thanks.
