The SLI Pair in the second pic (100MHz) doesn't have the large logo on the back side "Righteous 3D Orchid" the other cards do ???

Does it matter if there is two V2@sli with different memory speed,
what is RAMDAC speed, I have Techworks Power 3d2 with silicon 100MHz memory is that RAMDAC speed or is it just other thing |
Title: Re: Voodoo2 Memory Speed Post by paulpsomiadis on 09.11.06 at 04:06:48
1. SLI cards don't have to have the same speed RAM. :D
2. Ramdac and memory speeds are two different things (they are separate chips after all!) ;) |

Hi, gamma742,
I am interested in buying Voodoo2. The problem is, I currently live in Bulgaria. I guess I could do a bank transfer in euro, so if you are living in a country within the European Union, it should not be a problem, but if you are from the USA, Canada, Australia, etc. - I am not sure how that will work out. I will greatly appreciate a reply and hope that we can work the details out. Best regards: Boris |

Boris, welcome to the best 3dfx forum worldwide! 8) I don't want to intrude upon the deal between you and Gamma, and I hope that Gamma will forgive me, but the price of transport and of money tranfer will be much greater then the price of both of the cards. Anyway, since I also live in Sofia, I could direct you to a shop where you can still buy a used Voodoo 2 for a few levs (bulgarian money). Voodoo 2's are not that rare, that you have to go "offshore" to get one ;) I tried to buy a PCI Mac Voodoo 5 5500 some time ago from a friend from Canada here in forum, but nothing happend :( He changed his mind when I told him that he would have to go to western union to get the money; and Western Union was the only means to pay for the card. No bank from Bulgaria was willing to do the transfer. Well, I think that one bank was actually willing, but they wanted 100 eur for the trouble. For a card that's worth 50 dollars, it was far too much... :( |

well you could make a free account for PayPal ;) saves alot of trouble also it's fast, reliable and possibly the cheapest way to transfer cash as well ;)
@ elfuego I would like to help you find a VMAC 5500 PCI they aren't that rare hehe :) |

Well then, please enlighten me how to open a paypal acount from BULGARIA or from Serbia. Weren't we all over this stuff half a year ago? I said it then, I'll say it again, since you've forgotten: it's not possible! As I said, still the ONLY way is Western Union money transfer. Period. That may change in a few years, let's say: 5-10 years... When Bulgaria completely enters EU. Until then... :-X P.S. I am still interested in buying V5 5500 PCI for 50$, got one? |

Hi, elfuego,
First of all, thank you for the warm welcome and I am glad that you offer your help. I am seriously looking into buying a Voodoo2 together with the pass-through cable and, if possible, SLI cable (might come in handy one day, who knows?) I will greatly appreciate it if you can give me directions as to where in Bulgaria I can find Voodoo graphic cards. Actually, so far I was able to purchase here both Voodoo Banshee and a Voodoo4, as well as some Voodoo3. So I guess Voodoo is popular here as well. Now, to Gamma - Well, I would like to think that the bank clerks did not lie to me when I was opening my euro bank account - they said money transfer is possible and that is one possibility. Western Union is also an option, thanks for that one. And I seriously hope that from next year on, we can trade without any obstacles from EU countries. So, if want to, please make an offer. Bear in mind, I am not exactly rich, but if the price is reasonable, we should be able to strike a deal. One final things - I had to go to Germany to get a Voodoo5, hehe. Luckily, I got free transportation, so it was not that expensive. I still have not found a suitable computer for this gem, but I have set my eyes on an Athlon 1.1 Ghz system. best regards to all: Boris |
