Voodoo 2 and VIA C3/Eden CPU's...
20.04.04 at 04:09:32

Anyone know if there are any compatibility issues between the Voodoo 2 and these CPU's? ???

I'm thinking of picking up one of these boards sometime in the future to build an SFF Dual V2 rig... Wink

Should be no problem.
ViA cpu's are standard x86

why? you'll go better/faster (& maybe cheaper, not shure about that) by bying non-cyrix cpus..

Did you ever see a non-ViA cpu run at 20c when fully loaded, without a fan/heatsink? Cheesy

Didn't think so.

DenisF is correct! Wink

Not ONLY are these mini-itx mainboards low power consumption, low heat AND fanless... Cheesy

...but they are also 'weeny' as well! Grin

The Dual V2's would cover the length of the mainboard nearly! Shocked

Plus there are ONLY two PCI slots on the riser card...ideal for a Dual V2 setup! Wink

SWEET! 8)

i see...but what's the use for a dual v2 rig? i bet you get more power from some 'standard' setup

Hello matey!  Wink

You thinking of building a nostalgia box?  Cheesy

Try ebay for Cyrix processors, I'm sure you can pick one up dirt cheap up on there.

Have you managed to get your two V2's yet to put in the system? If so, which ones have you got?

Sup' mate! Wink

Yah, I'm thinking of building an SFF Dual V2 rig using a VIA micro-ITX mainboard. Grin

I'm looking at one on eBay at the mo., but it'll probably finish at too high a price! Roll Eyes

As for the Dual V2's I have two Gainward Dragon 3000 Voodoo 2's (BOTH fully boxed with an SLI cable, passthrough and original driver cd's and manual) one of them has a demo CD with Turok on it and some other demos. Also one of the boxes is FRENCH! Shocked

These V2's are special as unlike most 'normal' Voodoo 2's they have big GREEN heatsinks on the TMU's anf FBI chip to keep them cool, but you'll STILL need a big fan though! Roll Eyes

We shall see what occurs... Wink
