Apart from the fact that they are hard to find. Were they US only, or EU only or something? Were they introduced nearer to the end of 3dfx?
Perhaps more durable fans? Marketing reasons? A search didn't come up with anything. |

They just have cool looking stickers. (only thing special about them)
On a side note I don't think they were ever put on MAC cards, or the regular 5500 PCI. I have only seen them on 4500 AGP/PCI, and 5500 AGP. |

So is it Thermshield or Thermashield? Does it refer to the fan manufacturer? Do you know why they changed to those fans Gary? Thanks |
