I just bought a geforce 6800GT from ebay for $90 smackeroos. Now that I think about it, I have my doubts. Would I have been better off with the new ATI Radeon X1650 PRO 512MB AGP for $160? For 1 and a half times the price it seems almost worth spending the extra $45. What are your thoughts?

the 1650 would be more futureproof, but in terms of performance??

I would have a look at anandtech.com, they have an interactive vga chart where you can look it up if they perform ok.

No, tomshardware has the interactive VGA charts.

Also, what a fair price is, may differ from country to country.

In The Netherlands you can get a new x1650 pro 512MB for about €90.
(current exchange rate: €1 = ~$1.36)
6800GT is however, hard to come by.

I purchased a 6600GT of $70 shipped a few months ago so $90 for a 6800GT sounds ok.

66€ for a 6800gt is a very nice price. A very good purchase!
