Flashing a Voodoo 5 5500 MAC PCI to PC version
12.03.08 at 04:29:47

Hi

I am trying to flash my MAC 5500 to a PC bios with DVI.  I've seen some ROMS and BINS and tried flashing the card....

However I get the error,
ERROR:  A 3dfx Banshee or Voodoo 3 was not found in the system.

So, I'm not sure what to do.  I've been using a floppy and booting to dos with a Windows XP boot disk, then running the flash.exe on the bios bin/rom file.

Please help!

Thanks, I  was there, but I realized I didn't connect the Molex power....

Now I see the card, but I get the error before flashing that, "there is no build information for the selected hardware.  Continue?  Y or N"

I continued, the program saved the MAC bios to save.rom and erased the bios chip, but didn't load anything as there was nothing to load???

I only put DOS4GW, Flash.exe & the Bios File  (I've tried flashing with two different version 1.18 PC DVI bioses.  What does it mean by build information?  What should be on the floppy?

Thanks

OK, figured it out!

Just continue, even though the message states "there is no build information for the selected hardware.  Continue?  Y or N"

Press Y

After that it I rebooted into the mobo bios and changed to vid card bootup to PCI from AGP.  *rebooted*  Voila!  A Voodoo 5 5500 PC PCI.

Life is good!   Cheesy

NOTE:  I used the bios named 55k118.rom, but I forgot where I got it,  right now.
