Title: P3B-F HW Monitor alert
Post by razrx on 21.04.09 at 00:03:44
I am testing an ASUS P3B-F motherboard and I keep getting a POST notification that there is an alert.  When I go into the HW Monitor in the BIOS, it shows my -5V reading as -6.19V.

I tried a few times to reboot after changing the board's settings to default, but no change in the Voltage reading.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Try changing your PSU.

Ah ok.  I will try that.

I was reading here: http://www.asktheramguy.com/v3/showthread.php?t=63188
and it was suggested to use a Digital Mulitmeter to find out the true value.

Update:  no issues with a second psu.  -5.01

guess that other psu is out the door.

OLD PSU:  PC Power & Cooling 480W - Bought new last year & used about 10 times....

REPLACEMENT PSU - Ultra 500W - Bought used last year off ebay.

I don't know enough about PSUs too, so that's why I asked for some help.

I'm glad it's an issue with a PSU instead of the P3B-F.
