is it my new HDD or what?

well t'day I bought a new Seagate Barracuda V 120 GB 7200 rpm HDD, I have added it as my Secondary Primary HDD and when it's powered up I get wierd black stripes on my monitor-/
Without that HDD enabled the problems are gone, kinda wierd ya know.
So what could be my prroblem? Is my PSU not powerfull enough?

Might be
Try disconnecting all CD/DVD drives and Floppy and see if it helps. If so, try a more powerful PS.

@Obi_Wan - dude, buy a better PSU!
If you are having problems like that NOW - it will be only a matter of time before your PSU gives under the strain!
Write down what you have in your case and use HERE to find out what PSU you need for all the devices...

This includes fans and USB external items that draw bus power...

Recommended PSU Wattage: 233 watts
MSI MB, AMD 2000+, 1 gig ram, 1 HD, 2 DVD, 6600GT
The system I use every day doesn't seem to be straining it's 320 watt power supply to bad, lets check out the P4 system next.
Recommended PSU Wattage: 294 watts
Gigiabyte MB, Intel 2.4C, 1 gig ram , 2 HD, 1 DVD/RW, 1 CD/RW.
Following the 85% rule of usage (never run electronics at 100% for long periods of time) I should be ok.

well thanx for the help Paul I filled in what IU had and the outcome was 273 watts that's with 100% CPU load, so my Enermax EG365VE with max output of 365watts should be sufficiant.
Anyways I have reinstalled Windows 2000 Professional + Service Pack4 with Rollup 1 for Service Pack 4 and now everything is dead stable no funny lockups yet
the 30GB drives seemed to have died, since it was simulating the noises of a Floppydrive
@ gdonovan
But yeah on the otherhand the PSU I use is very old, it might be usfull replacing thanx for that idea though
