I have a older pentium2, 196mb ram, voodoo3 2000, I just put in the video card and the newest drivers from this site for win98. When Im playing games It doesnt seem to lockup at all but when im surfing the net (internet explorer 6) it completely freezes after only a few minutes, Any help would be appreciated, you could also email me at timwarren@king.igs.net if you have any ideas, thanks again tim

probably a double driver installed somewhere , boot into safemode and check system devices for double vid card , modem , sound drivers if there ok probably a app conflicting .

if not a app maybe spyware of some sort causing a crash in your browser (had same prob recently)

Same problem occured with Diamond Monster Fusion (3Dfx Banshee) and IE 5. It was a driver issue. You could try another driver, especially 3dfx latest original drivers 1.07.00.

If it is an IE 6 issue, you could try to reinstall/repair IE 6. If it still doesn't work, uninstall IE 6 and install previous version 5.5.

It could be related to a virus, an adware or spyware. Install a free antivirus, a free firewall i.e. ZoneAlarm (Download link http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1001_cnet_zdnet/zaSetup_37_193.exe) and a free spyware remover i.e. Spybot SD (Homepage http://security.kolla.de Download link http://studserver.uni-dortmund.de/~su1669/spybotsd12.exe Update link http://spybot.eon.net.au/files/spybotsd_includes.exe)
