Frankly I'm surprised there is any picture at all off the DVI port!

Maybe another LCD? Perhaps your current one has problems dealing with the ouput?

Prototype- Most of the time 3dfx was happy to get them to work, let alone other functions.

Aside from VGA output no. I was thinking of getting a 1999 vintage LCD to try but never got around to it.

Interesting!

You can always try a real 'DFP monitor' if you ever come across them for a fair price.

Anyway, the native resolution of your TFT is good enough. DFP only supports up to 1280x1024.

you say it IF i can get one
i try to get a ATi Rage LT, think thats easier

this have also a SIL CHIP but not a special ATI IC like the 3Dfx one
Gary, can you test your compaq 3500? or sell it to me Roll Eyes

i also test the TV-out
on bot i dont have a picture, only if the driver loads i get it
and everytime i have to set it to PAL again

all series v3 bots with TV in color and saves the PAL settings, with the same driver

I was looking at one time and there was a few posted on Ebay, mostly for apple products.

Testing the Compaq maybe an issue as the original BIOS is missing.

I'll look into obtaining an adapter and perhaps test.

Missing bios, this means the cards doesn´t work at all ? Or did you flash another one ?

The card arrived with a blank bios, but PCI.EXE indicated the board was on the bus.

I flashed it with a Compaq 3500 BIOS and the card powered up and worked normal, never tried the DFP connector out and can't recall if it popped up in the driver screen either.

A rare board, only one known of.

Why would you get an ATi Rage LT? To test the DFP/DVI convertor? If so, also think of the possibility that the DFP port on the V3 is not correct (or correct enough) that the convertor doesn't work, but a 'native' DFP monitor will work.

Although, in case you're looking for a DFP card. Try extending your search to a S3 boards as well. I have a S3 Savage4 with DFP lying around somewhere (not selling it though).

I also found a Savage4 with D-SUB and DFP on http://www.nowthatsit.nl/ (A Dutch webshop which doesn't deeplink correctly). It says: that the board is a Compaq sparepart with number 142707-001. It was meant for Presario 5700 systems but will also work in other systems.

Seems to be correct as it's just a normal AGP board. If you want it I can help you order is. The board is a whopping 11,35 EUR without shipping.

According to Wikipedia:
Quote:
The connector was used by displays such as the Compaq Presario FP400, FP500 and 5204

Maybe it'll make the search easier.

What about using exxe's V3/DFP BIOS?

SGRAM board, would not risk using on a SDRAM board.

I have a few others with DFP too so would not mind testing once I have an adapter or LCD.
