what should be so speacial about it then?

it's nothing else but a Rev.A1 2900 ;) like most of them are.

I have a total of 4 Voodoo5 5500 PCI's 3 of 4 are ecactly identical only with different ram types which can be a normal aspect the 4th one is has a DVI on it that's actually the Voodoo5 5500 PCI + DVI 64MB for Macintosh ;D

But your card is just a common Voodoo5 5500 PCI 64MB Rev.A1 2700/2900 or 3000. ;) :-X

that's a yellow mosfett all 4 of my 5500 PCI's have that, very normal :) if it were a prototype there would be NOT FOR RESALE Stickers on the back of the card and an Engineer's Card

well if there are NotFor Resale stickers on the back of the card...Ya know ::)

It's nothing like a proto, just a 5500 PCI like any other :), would you like to make a pic of the back of the card, and also a close up of it's PCB date ;)

the PCB date should be located near the 94V-0 logo like 2900 for example ;)

atr least it's the fastes Voodoo on the PCI Bus! 5500 PCI's can always come in handy , you can use them as secondary VGA :)

to Obi-Wan_Kenobi:

i have checked the list of voodoo4/5 which are known up to date ( you posted)

3dfx Voodoo5 5500 PCI 64MB
Rev.A1 2700
Rev.A1 2900
Rev.A1 3000 with 5.5ns ram
Rev.A1 3100 with 5'5ns ram

no 2300 found...maybe this one can be added to this list

Well my Voodoo5 5500 AGP from USA is a a Rev.A 2300 but that's an  AGP one, if your card is a Rev.A1 2300 would be abit strange. but new aditions are welcome :P

Maybe these cards were used for testing?...Theres a stamp on both that says pci test...you can see it in the pic..

hmm it gets more interesting like this :)

so it's a 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 PCI 64MB Rev.A1 2300, very nice.

how many ns is the ram also 6ns or 5.5?
anyway if they were used for testing there would be NOT FOR RESALE stickers on the back of the card its self.

ah 6 ns :)
okay that's rather normal yes, it is known that the Rev.A1 3000 and Rev.A1 3100 cards have 5.5ns ram.

but is is strange that it locks up if you want to run Internet Explorer.

Title: Re: special voodoo5 5500 pci?
Post by seller on 07.08.05 at 21:38:06
how can it be a 3000 if it has the 2300 stamped on the card?...your confusing me now...lol

Hmm I was confused there, oh deary.

well maybe it is a test device who knows, it doesn't have so many changes,  the PCB date make me wonder though week 23 year 2000 rather early for a PCI card, cool to put that one in the list , thanx for the nice pic Seller ;)
