Title: 5500 agp agp pro110 compatibility?
Post by Drakan Player on 03.09.10 at 21:41:11
I have came across an older HP workstation for $109 before sales tax at a local shop that is ready to use. It has both cpu sockets populated with two Intel Itanum 1/2 and 3gb ram. I forgot what hard drive space that it has so I am wondering if this could make a fun project while using it as a training aid for my class so that I have an edge when it comes to testing later on in the semester. I am the type that needs hands on. So will my 5500 agp work in this workstation and will it work with win xp 64 or win server 2008 r2?

Thanks for the reply but sadly after a few hours of digging around it turns out the Itanium cpus don't support x86 16bit and 32bit code as well normal x64 but instead only run IA-32 and IA-64 code path only so I didn't purchase the machine. Plus the shop wouldn't haggle those greedy pricks.  -_- They also had a nice tablet and wanted way to much for it. Compaq TC1100 and they wanted $270 us for it  :o Needless to say I left it and angry shopped online only to buy a GTX460.  :-/
