mostly on ebay, but not often to see

the guy who own v5 6k is not willing to sell his "baby" coz it is hard to find.

if it shows on ebay, usually the price is around £1200,quite expensive....

:D

you need to the the people that have them, that is something rather known within the community, also yeaps lot's of money is required, like Frank-Bao said Ebay should be the best place to find one, but then you might have to keep watch on ebay like 3 t 5 times aday, to see if there is a change and so on.

May The Force Be With You on your search.

Ebay 3 to 5 times a day?  That's a bit harsh!  ;)  :-/

In all honesty, when was the time we saw a V5 6k on Ebay?

They are very far and few between on Ebay.  :(

It's mostly down to luck and spotting one on Ebay on the odd occasion you visit.

You could be on Ebay 3 to 5 times a day, for 6 months, and still not see a V5 6k.  That is a lot of wasted time when you could be doing other things.   :)

Yes, but I would recommend you are more likely to obtain such a card a lot easier through contacts.  Someone who knows someone, who knows someone ...

This is a lot better chance than Ebay.  With Ebay, you have to take more of a chance against a lot of competition.

I see.

Thank you for your prompt responses.

It seemed impossible to find it anywhere. I check ebay almost daily and I also check other foreign auction sites.

I will keep searching. I have a feeling one of these ended up in some office computer where no one even knows its in there.

Do you guys think that when video cards come out with quad GPUs again the value on the V5 6k will go down?

The reason I ask is I am already spotting dual GPU video cards on the market. Also, with SLI out now it should happen very soon.

Again,
Thank you for your time.

I don't think it will ever go down for that reason
the voodoo 5 6000 is just a piece of art by itself

though,
high manufacturing cost is incured for production of quad GPU cards,
I think NVidia and ATI would stick to one core and just keep making it better and better to be cost efficient,

already, the new cards are costing like $600 on MSRP to start off.
and they are single core.

Did you try to contact Hank Semenec or Amigamerlin ?
Most likely they have V5-6ks or know someone who does...

I saw Amigamerlin on the members list but I don't see Hank. Who's he or what's his username?

I really appreciate all your help! I've been searching for a while now.

As for the future of dual core GPU's and quad core. So far the Volari cards were offering dual GPU's on their cards but also I spotted this card : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814125196

Its a shame it doesn't have SLI support though. It would have been interesting to see how it runs. Also, I have not been able to find any decent benchmarks on this card either. What's your opinions on this? I apologize if I sound ignorant.

Amigamerlin have no more Voodoo5 6000 to sell (yes, he have one sample but it is personal sample of course) and he no longer provide any kind of transaction....

Better is to ask Hank (very busy person)

yeah, hank never bother to reply much of my emails.
same goes to amigamerlin
he was suppose to sell me a good rev 3,
assumingly 3900 as he said it was the final prototype before plans of mass production
solid working... but yea right.. just a matter of replying once and thats it.
no follow up.
