v-mod would be my guess as well,I know the guy and crazy v-mods were definitely his game,but he hasnt been around for ages..

that is my guess too but what does he vmods? core or memory?....and I can see (picture blurry) one trimmer (probably 3 pin) and 3 soldering points (no ground?) so it makes it a bit weird.
