What does this small gold dot represents on the Voodoo 5 6000/3700 I have seen it on several of yours and it is on mine as well.

Blank spot left in the PCB so a "big momma" heatsink assembly could be mounted.
If you look, there are four locations around the GPU's for mounting a large cooler.
A side note- For whatever reason the prototype cooler and heatsink assemblies had NEVER been installed on a V5-6000, the picture you see is the first. I'll have more when the card comes in and the install is tuned up a bit.

my guess:
if you have a v5 6000,you should lock it up in a safe cause its worth more than gold of the same weight

hahahaha, very true,
never thought of it that way until u mentioned it.
Indeed you are right.
I wonder if it will be a good investment for the future.
Gold is stable.
How about Voodoo... 10 years down the road are people still going to be talking about 3dfx?.. hmm

Thanks Gary,
I knew you would know. I viewed about five 3700's @ the galley.ch and everyone of them had it. They are not identical but they are there none the less. When I saw it on mine, I was about to use some nail polish remover to take it off. I am glad now I checked first.
It looks as though you'll need to drill a hole in that area to mount the Heatsink. A scary thought if you asked me ???

I wouldn't do it for the price paid for it.

NOT
have a "Gold Dot" at this location?
