Okay, so one of them is a display model, but wouldn't it be nice to put it on a plynth in a display box, showing the card that I personally think, made the breakthrough on today's modern cards, to all your jealous mates?
Plus all the stacks of other cards that are going, there is a real collection going here.
Shame that most of them come without original packaging and documentation.  :-[

I'm a bit wary about that being the original 3dfx flag though.  A guy recently sold a Voodoo5 6000 on eBay, also stating that if the price reached a certain level, he would sell the original Texas 3dfx flag that was situated outside their building.  I have also seen someone else claiming they have it too.
This is the third seller I have heard say that they have the original one 3dfx flag from the HQ in Texas.  ???

Only two 3dfx flags...one stood/hung outside of the texas headquarters, this is the one in the auction, and there's another one, that's in a shrink wrap/platic bag/case...that's tweakmeister's. So the flag that's in this auction it the flag that flew outside 3dfx...

You can't be too careful, I've seen 3 identical flags to this one, so it can be very difficult to identify which is the genuine one.

After all, they don't come with barcode/serial numbers and a receipt do they? ;)

er, useless to say, but i think 3dfx had had more than 2 flags, regardless how much were hoisted  ;)

Depends how many flagpoles they had, they may have had some flagpoles inside! ;)

FYI, VMAN worked out 3dfx, he was an STB engineer to be exact. He, like Hank, used to fix people's 6ks about 1.5 years ago ( I doubt he does it anymore), so hence his post; he "took" the flag that hung outside the building...if there were anymore (in that building), I'm pretty sure he would have mentioned them  ;)

VMAN, or Hank, for that matter, never worked in 3dfx marketing then, or worked in textiles??  ;D, where they made the flags ( as they probably paid some eastern employees a very low sum to make the flags). Therefore, VMAN nor Hank have any knowledge of how many flags were made, which are genuine, and which are not. ;)

There are probably more (genuine & fake) 3dfx flags out there that VMAN or Hank know about.  ;)

I never said that VMAN's flag wasn't a genuine one. My point was simply that, buyers should still be aware of a 3dfx flag if they ever come across it as they never know if it is genuine or not.  They could be paying hundereds of dollars ($ USD) for something that is worth no more than $10 - $20 USD.

Must be, he has an impressive collection! Wonder how long it took him to build that?  ::)

Were STB the 3rd party company that built the later generation of cards for 3dfx (V3/4/5/??6??) ?

STB  originally produced a couple 3dfx cards (v1/2/rush), then they merged with 3dfx, so all the 3dfx-built cards after that were actually made by the former STB. I'm not sure exactly when the break was, tho.
