Creative Voodoo 2 with Via Motherboard
09.10.10 at 22:57:42

Hi folks,

I'm trying to use a creative voodoo 2 board with a Via mainboard with Athlon 1300 CPU.

The board is an Abit KX7-333.

With the latest voodoo 2 drivers, once windows boots up, the disk activity continues for a few seconds, then the mouse locks, or I get green lines at the top of the screen, or the machine re-boots sometimes.

The card is known good as it works in an Intel 815 mainboard.

Any ideas appreciated  Smiley

Robert.

are you using win9x? the latest dx7 v2 3dfx driver is known to lock up amd k7 based machines-you have to use either the dx7beta 3dfx driver,or amd k7 compatible 3rdparty drivers..

Ahh I was using the latest DX7 voodoo 2 drivers yes, wasn't aware there was an issue! I've gone back to the 1ghz Intel Pentium 3 board now though - but thanks for the info!
