Title: V5 AAVID fans
Post by Maf on 17.06.09 at 16:48:04
I have some questions regarding V5 5500 cooling. As the card is 9 years old now and the radiators with fans are glued to the chips, do they tend to fall off or just break? Are there some TIPS how to make them live longer? They are pretty noisy and such noisy fans 'like' to break sometimes. Let me know what are your experiences with them.

Thanks, that's helpful.
But what about the thermal glue between the chip and the heatsink, is it reliable?

its like concrete
sometimes its stronger than the GPU itself....

to remove it you best put the card into a freezer (inside a plasticbad)

I don't want to remove it, I just want to be sure that it won't fall off by itself ;) Thanks
